KERNEL - WIRELESS & MOBILITY SOLUTIONS

What is Wireless and Mobility?

Information exchange and collaboration are main factors that drive progress. IT networks facilitate the information exchange and collaboration between the employees of the same entity and between an entity and its collaborators or clients.

Mobility features confers a remarkable advantage to those in need to stay connected to information wherever they are. Wireless features that are widespread integrated into current devices such as laptops, PDAs, mobile phones allow for a person to be mobile and, in the same time, to respond quickly to challenges that are part of a daily activity.

Kernel Solutions:

Using Cisco as provider for the wireless equipment and software, we are able to fully integrate the “mobility concept” into a company network infrastructure. This way the network logical boundaries are expanded beyond the physical ones, enabling communication and collaboration from any device, anytime and anywhere.

At Kernel we use the following approach in the development and the implementation of a wireless project:

  1. Wireless site survey, sometimes called an RF site survey or wireless survey, is the process of planning and designing a wireless network, to provide a wireless solution that will deliver the required wireless coverage, data rates, network capacity, roaming capability and Quality of Service (QoS). The survey usually involves a site visit to test for RF interference, and to identify optimum installation locations for access points. This requires analysis of building floor plans, inspection of the facility, and use of site survey tools. Interviews with IT management and the end users of the wireless network are also important to determine the design parameters for the wireless network.
  2. Deployment of the solution – based on the PPDIOO methodology we perform the complete process required for the implementation and operation of the wireless infrastructure using stand-alone access point or wireless controller based solutions.
  3. Validation, upon the completion of the deployment is important to perform a new wireless survey and RF analysis in order to ensure that the performance and coverage parameters are in line with the initial results and contractual terms.
  4. Integration of wireless based applications, after the validation is verified we will perform the optional deployment of intelligent wireless based applications like Hotspots, Location services, Rogue user and ap detection, Point of Sales, Intelligent tags.
